Dr. Steven Hale
Dr. Hale graduated from West Virginia University in 1973 and University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1977. He obtained Family Practice Residency training at Florida Hospital, Orlando Florida, finishing in 1980 and establishing a local private practice in downtown Orlando, 1980-1985.
Dr. Hale entered public health practice in 1985 at the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County and transferred to the Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) in 1991.
Dr. Hale has been Senior Physician/Medical Director at the DOH-Orange since 1994, supervising Physicians and CNMs and ARNPs, Dental and Pharmacy.
He has had the opportunity to work on State level committees including the State laboratory review committee, Security and Confidentiality committee and Disaster Plan work group, State Lab Contracting workgroup and now serves as co-chair of the HMS Committee, an advisory group for design and implementation of the DOH electronic medical record. Locally, Dr. Hale is a member of the Orange County Medical Society, serves on the Special Care Inc. Board for Volunteer Physicians, and the Primary Care Access Network (PCAN) board.
