During National Minority Health Month, beginning April 1, 2017, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County joins the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health along with our community partners in raising awareness about efforts across health, education, justice, housing, transportation and employment sectors to address the factors known as the social determinants of health – environmental, social and economic conditions that impact health. So join us on April 27th as DOH – Orange celebrates National Minority Health Month with our Annual Health Equity Hero Award, that recognizes individuals in the community and the Dr. Alfred Bookhardt Award, which is awarded to a licensed physician who epitomizes the spirit of public health.  The ceremony will be held at our Central Clinic location. So please join us as we recognize those who go above and beyond to make Orange County a stronger and healthier place to live, work, and play!
