DOH-Orange launches its Healthy Retail Recognition Program
April 22, 2019
The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) announces the launch of its Healthy Retail Recognition program to recognize businesses that promote healthy living and healthy messages.
Drawing inspiration from different healthy retail programs operated across the US, DOH-Orange’s program will focus on recognizing healthy living and healthy messaging currently in two areas: Baby Safe Sleep education and Women, Infant and Children (WIC) food nutrition.
The intent of the Healthy Retail Recognition program is to bring awareness to healthy living and healthy messages. The program will highlight local businesses that have fulfill the program’s criteria and made a contribution to DOH-Orange’s mission of protecting, promoting, and improving the health of all people in Florida in the areas of Baby Safe Sleep education and WIC food nutrition.
The program will recognize deserving businesses that have furthered Baby Safe Sleep education and WIC food nutrition efforts by featuring them on the DOH-Orange Twitter platform @GOHealthyOrange, through press releases, and a ceremony.
In the future, the hope is to expand the areas of recognition to further the promotion of healthy living in the community.
