ORLANDO, FL –The Florida Department of Health in Orange County is collaborating with the Simeon Resource Center for Men and partnering with the Barker Park Farmer’s Market to host an event to celebrate National Minority Health Month.

The “Vaccine Ready: Your Health Matters” event is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Located at Barker Park, 2000 Monte Carlo Trail in Orlando, the event will feature numerous health activities and information along with an opportunity for individuals to receive a FREE COVID-19 vaccination (will supplies last).

With the theme of “Vaccine Ready,” during the month of April the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Minority Health is focusing on the disproportionate impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on racial and ethnic minority communities. The emphasis is on underscoring the need for these vulnerable communities to get vaccinated as more vaccines become available. COVID-19 vaccination is an important tool to help us get back to normal and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in order to bring the pandemic to an end.
