The Department of Health regulates Communicable Diseases under the authority of Chapter 64D-3 of the Florida Administrative Code.
The following diseases are designated as sexually transmitted:
- AIDS
- Chancroid
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- Granuloma Inguinale
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- HIV -Human Immunodeficiency Virus
- Lymphogranuloma Venereum
- Syphilis
Effective July 1, 2024, STD Surveillance efforts will be redirected to individual counties: Orange, Osceola, Brevard, and Seminole. Beginning July 1, 2024, the Florida Department of Health in Orange County’s STD Department will exclusively conduct STD/STI surveillance for Orange County residents.
