Derrick T. Nealey has been working with the State of Florida for more than thirty years, starting in 1990 with the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services in the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program in Tallahassee as a Grants Specialist.  He joined the Department of Health-Orange County in September of 1998.  Since joining the local Health Department, he has been progressively promoted to higher more challenging positions ranging from Accountant Supervisor to his current role as CHD Assistant Director of Administration where he oversees: Business Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Facilities, Data Analytics, Vitals Statistics, Grants Management, Health Information Management, Environmental Health, and Emergency Preparedness.

During this tenure with the State of Florida, he successfully completed several academic achievements including the receipt of his Associate’s Degree and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  Derrick also participated in the thirteenth class of the Florida Public Health Leadership Institute of Florida associated with the University of South Florida. 

Derrick is originally from Blountstown, Florida.  He and his wife of more than twenty-five years, have a son and two daughters.
