COULD YOU SPOT A VICTIM OF TRAFFICKING IN A CROWD? Probably not. Victims may not look any different than anyone else you see every day. In addition to being a violent crime, human trafficking is a public health concern that impacts individuals, families, and entire communities across generations. It requires training and a response from communities, social service providers, health care providers, and other first responders.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) invites you to join us as we promote awareness and education about the crime of human trafficking in Orange County and Florida. DOH-Orange would like to encourage everyone in the community to "Look Beneath the Surface" for signs of human trafficking and violence. This educational summit will provide training about how to spot the signs of trafficking and what to do once identified.

Training and free CEUs will be offered by Jan Edwards of Paving the Way Foundation www.stoptraffickingtoday.com.

The key note address will be delivered by Tonier Cain. Her message provides encouragement for how our community can bring hope to those others have deemed hopeless. She is a trauma survivor and internationally recognized Trauma Informed Care Expert. Tonier's work has focused on heightening awareness of the characteristics and effects of trauma and improving the performance of service providers, businesses, government agencies and others who interact with trauma victims and survivors. More information about Tonier is available at https://www.neencares.org.
