14th Annual Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day

September 28, 2015

STAR 94.5 Orlando’s R&B and Throwbacks is hosting the 14th Annual Take A Loved One (TALO) To The Doctor Day on Saturday October 3rd at Evans High School from 10am-2pm. This one-day health & wellness fair offers FREE screenings that include: blood pressure, glucose, BMI’s, STD, HIV & HEP C testing and much more.  Pregnancy tests, prostate exams, and mental health screenings will also be available to guests. Doctors and nurses will be at tables accessible to guests to answer questions.  There will also be community resources available, free food and prizes.

“STAR 94.5 joins the Florida Department of Health in Orange County to provide our listeners with over $85,000 in FREE health screenings every year. It’s a chance to let our community know just how much we care about their health” says Monica May, News/Community Affairs Director and Steve Harvey Morning Show host.

TALO will have a variety of fun activities for the entire family.  This year, the station will be introducing something new just for the kids: “Diabesity.” This fun and new obstacle course within the interactive Kids Corner Fitness Zone will keep them engaged and active with program leaders while their parents enjoy the free resources within the health fair. The event is a partnership with Orange County Commissioner Victoria Siplin and our STAR Cares partners McCoy Federal Credit Union, Attorney Greg Francis of Morgan & Morgan, Metro PCS and True Health – Real Choices, Real Care.
