To apply for WIC in Orange County or to reschedule your appointment, please call 407-858-1494. Our phone center is open between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.

To Qualify for WIC You Will Need:

  • Height and weight measurements
  • Blood test for hemoglobin or hematocrit

The measurements and blood test must be taken within 60 days of the WIC appointment. Infants less than 6 months old do not need a blood test.

Ask your doctor or health clinic to fill out a WIC Medical Referral Form with this health information. One form should be filled out for each person in the family applying for WIC. Bring the form to the WIC office when you go for your appointment.

If you don’t have a doctor, the WIC office will let you know how you can get the health information needed. The staff at the WIC office will advise you if you qualify for WIC.

Florida WIC clients use a WIC EBT card to purchase approved foods at authorized stores. Before shopping, check your balance online or 866-629-1095.

Breastfeeding and Classes

Florida WIC is a public health nutrition program that promotes breastfeeding as the normal, optimal way of feeding and nurturing children. WIC in Orange County offers breastfeeding classes for expectant and new mothers. Classes are free and are currently held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Call 407-723-4298 for more information.

Nutritious Foods and Support for families

Florida’s WIC Program provides vouchers for nutritious foods purchased at authorized stores. Clients purchase the foods at WIC-authorized retailers using a WIC EBT card.

The food package tailored for the individual client is loaded onto the EBT card at the WIC office during certification and nutrition education follow-up appointments.
