Some services are for adults and some are for children, to qualify, you and your family must be a current Orange County Florida resident. Programs, services, and activities are offered to create smart children, strong families, and healthier communities.

Each NCF is uniquely designed to address the needs of the surrounding community. All services are offered free of charge and typically include employment assistance, counseling, academic enrichment activities, computer labs, and health services.

The overall goal of the program is to provide services that respond to the needs of children and families in the home, school, and community.  In some schools, the NCF nurse may provide health screenings, health education, immunizations, fluoride treatment, referrals, family counseling and/or follow up on student medical conditions. An annual health fair is also coordinated with the assistance of other agencies.

In the home setting services are provided through nursing assessment of individual and family needs, prevention and control of communicable diseases, maternal and child health assessments and education, health information and counseling.  In the community services are provided through health screenings, immunizations, flu, and pneumonia vaccines; and some our senior services (blood sugar checks and blood pressure checks), health education and health counseling are also part of their management.  Home visits are performed upon request or referral from individuals in the community, the schools, or other collaborative partners.
