FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN ORANGE COUNTY HONORED WITH AN AWARD FROM THE CENTRAL FLORIDA HOTEL AND LODGING ASSOCIATION

ORLANDO, FL – On behalf of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County and its dedicated public health employees, Dr. Raul Pino, Health Officer for the Department, accepted the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association’s 2020 Public Servant of the Year Award! The Department was recognized during a ceremony held last week.

“I was honored to accept this award on behalf of our employees who have responded to the call during this COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Pino. “This award is a reflection of our employees’ commitment to professionalism and service to the community. I want to offer my thanks to our employees because they make the difference in the Department’s success day in and day out.”

The award is presented annually by the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association and recognized the Florida Department of Health in Orange County for its collaboration with local elected officials and business leaders in guiding the county towards safe opening and reopening procedures which allowed the industry to continue serving visitors and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County, in addition to responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic, has a number of program areas that focus on the surveillance, prevention, detection and treatment of the most significant health and environmental issues within the county.
