Community health is a discipline concerned with the improvement of the health characteristics of communities. The characteristics are often examined using a variety of research tools including epidemiological and social science methodologies and datasets.
Community or population health works to improve the health of entire populations by addressing issues such as: family planning, health disparities, environmental factors, and social structures. The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) is actively involved in the community through a variety of projects and partnerships.
