ORLANDO, FL – April is National Minority Health Month, and the Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) seeks to raise awareness about health disparities that impact racial and ethnic minority populations in our community. DOH-Orange also encourages action through health education, early detection, and control of disease complications. Celebrated every year in April, this year’s theme is Give Your Community a Boost!

To commemorate National Minority Health Month, DOH-Orange will host the O-Town Spring Fest on April 30, 2022. Residents are invited to this community event held at Lorna Doone Park, 1519 West Church Street, Orlando. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m. and will offer COVID-19 vaccines, health screenings, health information, live music, food trucks, fun workshops, a kids zone and much more!

For information on the O-Town Fest, contact DOH-Orange’s Community Health program at 407-858-1461. To learn more about National Minority Health Month and the numerous resources available to the community, visit: https://nimhd.nih.gov/programs/edu-training/nmhm/.
