DOH-Orange Hosting Free Back-to-School Immunization Event

Orlando, Fla — The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) is encouraging parents and guardians to prepare their children now for the upcoming school year by attending a free back-to-school immunization event.
Hosted in partnership with Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), the free immunization events are for OCPS students and children (4 to 18 years of age) entering, attending, or transferring to Florida schools.

Know Before You Go:
For ages 4 to 18 years of age only.
Bring student’s current shot record.
Bring child’s birth certificate, passport, or other government issued ID.
Parent or guardian must bring a valid ID.
Child must be present for DH680 forms.
No college vaccines will be administered.
If you have private insurance or Medicaid, your health care provider can provide these services.

Healthy Eating Proper nutrition is essential for children to grow and develop. Focus on fruits, vegetables, and protein. Limit sugar, saturated fats, and processed foods. Regular Exercise Encourage your child to be physically active for 60 minutes or more each day, like active play at the park or organized sports. Getting Enough Sleep Sleep is just as important to your children's development as nutrition and physical activity. Recommended sleep by age: 3-5years: 10-13 Hours 5-12years: 9-12 Hours 13-18years: 8-10 Hours COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY Contact your health care provider or local county health department (CHD) about back to school health and wellness to get your kids ready for a successful school year, inside and out.
