The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) is proud to
welcome Kent Donahue as a new member of the administrative staff. Mr. Donahue will serve as the department’s Public Information Officer and coordinate media and community relations.
“We are delighted to have Kent Donahue as our representative,” said Dr. Kevin Sherin, DOH- Orange Health Director. “He comes to us with many years of experience in public information.”
Mr. Donahue brings with him over 18 years of local government knowledge in the areas of public information, administration, and grant writing. His grant successes total over $36 million in awards that funded a variety of projects and facilities. With a background in public information, Mr. Donahue has handled media relations, internal and external communications, social media content, emergency and crisis communications, and managed a government access television station.
An active member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Volusia/Flagler chapter, Mr. Donahue served as the chapter’s president, vice president of membership, and held other board positions. He has received Advanced Public Information Officer training from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute and the Florida Division of Emergency Management. Mr. Donahue holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Central Florida.
Mr. Donahue is a native Floridian and has a passion for history. He is a published author, and enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. Married for 22 years, he and his wife, Monique, have two talented children.
