February 7, 2018, is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.  Now in its 18^th year, the awareness campaign was developed to increase HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment among black communities. 

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County encourages the community to get educated on HIV/AIDS and get tested. Florida has been heavily impacted by HIV/AIDS. The state continues to rank first in the nation in newly diagnosed HIV infections cases (4,864 in 2015) and is second in the nation in the highest HIV infection case rates (24.0 in 2015). 

“Talk Test Treat Central Florida” is the new message for breaking down the stigma of HIV and AIDS (Talk), knowing your status (Test) and preventing the HIV virus (Treat).  Visit http://talktestcfl.com.  The web site contains information about testing, treatment, and support in Central Florida.

The Florida Department of Health has developed a comprehensive program for preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and for providing care and treatment to those already infected.
