Childbirth
These classes are designed to prepare expectant parents for the childbirth experience. This is a four evening class series that covers signs of labor, preparation for labor and birth, breathing
techniques, stages of labor and birth, medications, comfort measures, and more.
A one day class is also offered on Saturdays. Advance registration is required.
Classes are held at various locations throughout the county. Participants are encouraged to bring two pillows, blanket or yoga mat, and a snack/drink.

Boot Camp for New Dads
The Florida Department of Health in Orange County, in partnership with the Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County, and All Star Dads, has the training available for every dad needs.
Boot Camp for New Dads is an educational program taught by fathers for new fathers. It consists of a three hour workshop covering not only baby care and fatherhood, but also the needs of new mothers.
- The first hour is dedicated to discussing topics, such as forming a new family, changing role of fathers, ensuring your baby's safety, and helping mom with breastfeeding.
- The second hour is a hands-on opportunity for prospective dads to practice their baby care skills, such as changing a diaper, feeding, and burping, all under the guidance of veteran dads who bring their new babies to class.
- The third hour is an interactive session featuring the best advice that veteran dads can offer new rookies.
Classes are offered throughout the county at several locations. Advanced registration is required.

Class is Temporarily UnavailableThe Happiest Baby program is a national program developed by Dr. Harvey Karp, a renowned Pediatrician. New parents can learn how to help babies sleep longer and how to soothe a fussy baby.
Classes are offered throughout the county. Advanced registration required and closes one week prior to the class start date. Registration must be completed by your assigned care coordinator.
Classes are free of charge for Healthy Start and Mom Care clients. A $10 fee is assessed to all non-clients and advance online registration is required. Payment includes a Happiest Baby on the Block DVD.

Safe Ride 4 Babies
The Safe Ride 4 Babies car seat class will include car seat safety, recall updates, and proper car seat installation.
- Cost is $30, participants receive a new (Evenflo SureRide/Titan 65) convertible seat, valued at $90.
Women and Infant Support Education
Women and Infant Support Education (W.I.S.E.) classes raises awareness and instructs participants on the importance of maternal health.
W.I.S.E. is a 6-week (one-day) informational class focused on topics, including maternal and reproductive health, child development, breastfeeding, safe sleep, shaken baby syndrome, car seat safety, and infant CPR.
Upon completion of the 6-week class, participants work towards having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Participants will also be able to identify and assess their child’s growth and developmental milestone achievements.
Demonstrations on proper breastfeeding techniques for infants and proper car seat installations, with the opportunity to purchase a car seat after completion of the class, are all included in this session.
