DOH-Orange Partners with the Orange County Tax Collector to offer new locations for Birth Certificate Copies

The Bureau of Vital Statistics at the Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) is pleased to announce two new locations where the public can purchase Florida birth certificates.

Made possible through a partnership with Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph, customers can now visit the Tax Collector’s Clarcona or East Orange offices.

The addresses are:

 Clarcona office - 4101 Clarcona Ocoee Road, Orlando, FL 32810

 East Orange office - 10051 University Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32817

"The Florida Department of Health looks forward to ways to expand locations for citizens to access birth records in Orange County," said Dr. Kevin Sherin, Director of DOH-Orange. "We are very grateful for the growing partnership with the Orange County Tax Collector for expanding access to vital records services."

That’s why we’re so thrilled to partner with the Department of Health to expand Florida birth certificate services for our customers," Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph said. The hours of operation for both locations is 8:30AM until 5PM; 9AM – 5PM on Wednesdays only.

This walk -in,same day service for birth certificates is available for all Florida births from 1917 to the present. The cost at the Tax Collector’s office is $21.25 for each certified copy. Additional computer copies for the same person are $8.00 each. Only parents, legal guardians, or the person whose name appears on the certificates, if they are at least 18 years of age, can receive a birth certificate. Proof of identification is required.

As always, customers can purchase birth certificates at DOH-Orange’s downtown Orlando Central office, 807 West Church Street, Orlando, FL 32805.

Did you know

A certified birth certificate is required for renewing a driver’s license, obtaining a Passport, school enrollment, signing up for sports, joining the military, and claiming insurance benefits. In

2016, DOH-Orange Vital Statistics provided 40,972 certificates upon request. For more information on the birth certificate process, visit the Bureau of Vital Statistic website at Orange.Floridahealth.gov.

Tax Collector’s SmartPass System

Customers can most easily obtain a certified copy of their Florida birth certificate at the Tax Collector’s Clarcona or East Orange offices by using the SmartPass system, which allows customers to get in line virtually rather than waiting in line in person.

To get in line virtually with SmartPass, visit the Tax Collector’s website at http://octaxcol.com; select either the Clarcona or East Orange office location; enter your cell phone number; and select birth certificate services. SmartPass will text you estimated wait times and let you know when you’re next in line.
