Mobile Home Parks

Environmental Health Program

There are approximately 110 Mobile Home Parks and 25 RV Parks permitted in Orange County. These parks provide 15,072 mobile home spaces and 2,578 RV spaces.

Mobile Home Parks are regulated under Chapter 64E-15 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Parks are inspected at least 2 times each year to assure that water supply and sewage disposal facilities are properly maintained, garbage is being properly handled and disposed, and general sanitation of park is maintained in good order (i.e. no junk, stray animals, rodent harborage, etc.). If the park has a Swimming Pool, that is also inspected.

Recreational Vehicle Parks must post their site rates and have the current RV Park Site Rate Schedule filed with the local health department.

Recreational Camps are also included in this program. Seasonal camps are inspected at least twice during the year. If the camp operates year round, it is inspected every quarter. We currently have 2 recreational camps which operate seasonally.

Anyone wishing to open a mobile home park or RV park must submit plans for the park through the local building department (city or county) for approval. Applications for operations of a Mobile Home Park must be made to the Florida Department of Health in Orange County at least 30 days before beginning operation of the park. Annual operating permits are issued by the Florida Department of Health in Orange County.

The permit fee is based on $4.00 per space with a minimum fee of $100.00 and a maximum fee of $600.00.  The permit year runs from October 1 through September 30 of each year. A county permit surcharge of $85.00 is added to the Mobile Home Park Permit.
