The Department of Health regulates Communicable Diseases under the authority of Chapter 64D-3 (PDF 247KB) of the Florida Administrative Code. The following diseases are designated as sexually transmitted:

  • (AIDS)- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
  • Chancroid
  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Granuloma Inguinale
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • HIV -Human Immunodeficiency Virus
  • Lymphogranuloma Venereum (Veneral Disease)
  • Syphilis

Effective July 1, 2024, STD Surveillance efforts will be redirected to individual counties: Orange, Osceola, Brevard, and Seminole. Beginning July 1, 2024, the Orange County STD Department will exclusively conduct STD/STI surveillance for Orange County residents.
