Finding Out You're Pregnant Can be Exciting and Overwhelming
Your baby is growing, and your body is changing, and the more you know about what’s happening in your body, the more in control you’ll feel.
That’s why one of the most important things you can do is choose a prenatal care provider who can help you while you’re pregnant. A provider who sees you regularly, can spot health problems early and can talk to you about how you can help your unborn baby.
Family Planning and Prenatal Health Clinic
The Florida Department of Health in Orange County (DOH-Orange) provides comprehensive maternity care to uninsured, underinsured or Medicaid-qualified pregnant women residing in Orange County. Our dedicated staff is sensitive to multilingual and multicultural needs. Services are provided in a confidential manner. Pregnancy testing is available.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)
WIC is a federally funded nutrition program for women, infants, and children. WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding support, and referrals for health care and community services at no cost.
To apply for WIC in Orange County or to reschedule your appointment please call 407-858-1494. Our phone center is open between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Bellies, Babies, and Beyond Program
Our Bellies, Babies, and Beyond Program works with women and their families before, during and after pregnancy, engaging pregnant women, and continuing to serve the family through the baby’s second birthday.
Florida Pregnancy Support Services
The network of pregnancy centers can be found all over Florida and are staffed with professionals who can help answer any questions or concerns you may have and assist with free resources such as medical-grade pregnancy tests, sonograms, parenting classes, and referrals to local community support.
National Maternal Mental Health Hotline
The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline is free, confidential, and available, 24/7 in multiple languages. Call or text: 1-833-TLC-MAMA for help.
Count the Kicks!
Baby movements are a key sign of health during the third trimester of pregnancy. The Count the Kicks app is a helpful tool for expecting parents to track their baby's movements. It helps you understand what is normal for your child. Resources are available online and via the free app.
Finding Affordable Prenatal Care
- Family Planning and Prenatal Health Clinic
- If you’re have low income and eligible, presumptive eligibility for pregnant women will be your first step toward prenatal coverage. This is temporary coverage that can keep you healthy early in your pregnancy before Medicaid enrollment starts.
- The Florida Department of Children and Families determines Medicaid eligibility for prenatal care.
- If you do not live in Orange County, your local county health department can connect you to the services that can keep you in prenatal care while you’re pregnant.
